About the Project

The Knapp Name Study project serves as a collaborative platform to collect information on the Knapp name. The hope is that other researchers like you will join the study to help make it a valuable reference point for other genealogists who are researching or have an interest in the Knapp name.

As a One Name Study, this project is not limited to persons who are related biologically. Individual studies can be used to branch out the research into specific methods and areas of interest, such as geographically (England Knapp's), by time period (18th Century Knapp's), or by topic (Knapp DNA, Knapp Occupations, Knapp Statistics). These studies may also include a number of family branches which have no immediate link with each other. Some researchers may even be motivated to go beyond the profile identification and research stage to compile fully sourced, single-family histories of some of the families they discover through this name study project.

Greetings, I have been doing research on my grandfather Fred Arthur Phillips, who was lost at sea and trying to piece together his life and travels. I have come across the name Knapp as a related family name. I have birth, marriages and some death lists all with Knapp, Coleman and Phillips all interrelated in this book. I am not sure how to move forward or where to put all this information. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I received an email from a gentleman which bought a cane with William Knapp 1887 to September 24th 1887. I am requesting permission to publish his email. I do not see well and need someone to help this gentleman return the cane to one of the original Knapp family. My family William Knapp match is closely except for the death date in September. Any help would be appreciated.
